✨ Post-Mortem Hour: A Workshop to Reflect, Reset, and Refocus ✨

Your team just finished a big project. Or maybe you're halfway through the year and things haven't gone quite as planned. Or maybe you are joining a new team and you're looking for a way to keep the good ways of working, while letting go of the...less good ways of working.

Before you rush into the next thing—what if you paused?

Welcome to Post-Mortem Hour — a reflective, facilitated team experience designed to help your people close out a project, a season, or a transition with intention.

This is not your average project debrief.

It’s a structured, thoughtful process that helps your team:

  • Celebrate wins and acknowledge what went well

  • Identify the challenges and what felt off

  • Release blame, resentment, or regret—individually and collectively

  • Name one thing each person wants to do differently going forward

  • Uncover one shared focus the team can align around next

Why It Works

In fast-paced work environments, teams rarely pause to process. I mean, I LOVED this stuff and still, in my corporate life, I couldn't find time, or rather make time, to do a retrospective review; or at least not on a regular basis. We took a quick moment to celebrate the win, finishing the project. And then, we jumped right into the next one, because honestly, we already felt behind.

Yet unspoken tension, missed opportunities, and even small resentments can quietly pile up—eroding trust and clarity over time.

Our Post-Mortem Hour workshop creates a space for honesty, growth, and connection.

By reflecting together (but sharing anonymously), teams build awareness, alignment, and forward momentum.

What to Expect

  • A 60–90 minute virtual session facilitated by me (time driven by size of team)

  • A mix of live discussion and private written responses, shared anonymously to the group

  • A psychologically safe space for every voice to be heard—without blame

  • A summary report delivered to the team lead within 48 business hours, outlining key takeaways and themes

📌 Note: If you'd like to extend the session or add a follow-up component, we can talk about customizing the format to your needs.

Who This Is Perfect For

  • Teams of 4–10 people (cross-functional, project-based, or leadership teams all welcome)

  • Groups who just wrapped a major initiative or launch

  • Teams experiencing change: new leadership, new team members, or saying goodbye to one

  • Teams who haven’t had a real “pause” in a long time and are ready to reflect and reset

  • Leaders looking for honest feedback that doesn’t just skim the surface

  • Teams who have a regular process, like month-end close and who have intended to review it many times this year, but haven't been able to make time

FAQs

How long does the session take?
→ Typically around 60–90 minutes, depending on your team size and how deep you want to go. If you have 10 or more members, it may go longer. We will want to book MORE time than we expect to need, rather than not have enough time. If there is "extra" time, we can use it to flesh out "what's next" more or you can have it back; that will be up to you.

Is this virtual or in-person?
→ Virtual for now. If you're interested in an in-person version, reach out! I would love to do an in-person version, especially if you have multiple teams in your department who may be able to leverage this.

Do I need to prepare anything?
→ Just come ready to reflect. I’ll handle everything else.

What kind of feedback do you need from us afterward?
→ Just a short post-session survey or 10-minute call. Your insights will help refine the final version.
